Priorat wines have the same DOCa status as Rioja wines (DOQ being the Catalan equivalent) but are generally less well-known than Rioja; in fact they are the only two Spanish wines at this highest qualification level. Terroir Al Limit was only set up in 2001 but old vines of Grenache and Carignan respond well to organic farming (certified organic) and biodynamic practices producing better quality and more intensely flavoured grapes which are produced using traditional wine-making techniques inspired by Burgundy into superb wine.
The winemaking is as non-invasive as possible with manual harvest, gentle grape treading in concrete vats which are then closed to allow natural yeasts to ferment the wine leading to a very smooth and easy-to-drink style of wine. Ageing is also in concrete so there is no oak to distract you from the fruit flavours.
A very smooth red wine full of red cherry, spice and liquorice aromas & flavours. Some Priorat wines, like Rioja, have too much sweetness from the ripe fruit flavours but in this instance they are very well balanced with fresh acidity. The fruit is also balanced with ripe tannins that show this wine will keep developing in the bottle for some time yet.
This wine is made for drinking with food; recommended with game, duck, goose, steak and other red meats, also with paella and other Spanish cuisine
"Beautiful red fruit aromas, floral nuances and dried Mediterranean herbs. A fresher and more seductive style of Priorat."

"I think the 2018 Terroir Históric follows the path of the 2016, with a little more freshness, and they have finally gotten rid of the reduction that this wine showed in some vintages. It has a clean and explosive nose of red cherries, licorice and fine spices and is clean and focused, pure, really attractive. There is perfect ripeness, enough to provide flavors and aromas without any excess. The palate is medium-bodied with great balance and is pure, delineated and terribly harmonious... It's remarkable that they have been able to increase quantity and quality."

"Light, fresh nose. Fairly simple fruit. Great name!"
A fresh & fruity style of Priorat that is very drinkable but will also develop further in bottle. Ripe red fruits, spice and liquorice aromas & flavours balanced with mouth-watering acidity
