USA
US wines tend not to be highly in favour with the majority of wine drinkers in the UK for a number of reasons. Firstly they are often very expensive. In addition we are spoilt for choice here in the UK and so American wines with their reputation (largely in the past) for being full of over-ripe jammy fruit flavours with heavy oak and high alcohol have had to compete with wines of improving quality from other countries.
The good news is that we are now seeing a wider selection of wine styles in the USA - and I've picked out some of the best American wines for you below. You can read more in my blog about the current state of US wines.
