I've been tidying up in the warehouse and found several wines that are on offer to newsletter subscribers until midnight on Sunday 20th August 2017. For those wines where I have only limited stock, the number of remaining bottles is mentioned at the end of the relevant description below - and this year I have included some wines with low stock where I can make up a case of 12 with a subsequent vintage so that you can take advantage of an extra 5% full case discount.
All of the wines on offer have been retasted and are still very drinkable; I am simply making room for some new vintages and some new wines due to arrive in the autumn.
As this is a subscriber-only sale and in order to make sure you secure the special price, rather than order through the website, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your order. I will confirm to you availability - first come, first served - and the final total and then arrange to take payment by credit card or bank transfer.
Minimum order is the usual six bottles and the usual delivery terms apply; you can mix and match sale and non-sale items. A great opportunity to save some money on sone fabulous wines!
A top class Gavi di Gavi DOCG that is very elegant with a long, dry, lime and apple finish; more structured and displaying a little more body and minerality than "standard" Gavi DOC. Sadly I can't get hold of any more of this lovely wine.
SORRY, NOW SOLD OUT - I am looking for another stunning Gavi di Gavi to replace the Contessa Zara
Now marketed by the producer as Pinot Bianco (Pinot Blanc) to emphasise the Italian origins and style of this wine. It has real character, is complex yet amazingly fresh with subtle apple and pear bouquet and hints of lime. Lovely and velvety in the mouth with a long dry finish. Still drinking beautifully
SORRY NOW SOLD OUT - I am hoping to have a newer vintage soon
A Prosecco with substance; organically produced grapes from old vines bring layers of fruit flavours and aromas which balance out the usual slight sweetness for most Proseccos. Lovely, creamy texture. Described by customers as "great Prosecco".

This lovely French red has previously been for sale at another retailer for over £50 so this sales price is a real bargain. It's a serious red wine with a creamy texture. The intense perfume hits you as soon as you open the bottle and the flavours are concentrated and long-lasting - herbaceous aromas of the local "garrigue", ripe plums, sour cherry, white pepper and a hint of dark chocolate. Blackberry flavours creep into the long, smoky finish.
A fantastic Barolo from a single vineyard considered to be of Grand Cru stature. It has the classic rose perfume on the nose with cherries and hints of raspberry. The texture is silky smooth. Very elegant & drinking beautifully now.
An exceptional Marlborough Pinot Noir with red fruits, silky smooth texture and, in addition, elegance. A seriously refined wine well deserving of its 96 points from Decanter magazine and 92 Parker Points.
Argentinian Malbec blend brimming with fruit aromas and flavours - creamy dark fruits including cherries, plums and blueberries, with coffee and smoky spices - pepper and cinammon; a complex wine that is lovely and smooth in texture and very elegant.
Also featured above in the "Limited Stock" section of the sale this is one of my more expensive wines but I have seen it at a sales price of £54.99 on another website so this is a real bargain. From Francis Ford-Coppola's winery in California this is Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at its best, from a great vintage. Classic blackcurrant, pencil shavings, leather, chocolate and more. This is drinking fabulously now. It's a wine for grown-ups. Just 11 bottles left
An elegant, well-structured red wine from an under-rated appellation, Canon-Fronsac AOC; an opportunity to acquire a 2002 Merlot-dominant Bordeaux displaying fruit and spice, with soft tannins. Very smooth
A young, fruit-forward wine dominated by red fruits – redcurrants, raspberries, ripe plums. With only hints of oak ageing this is an elegant, medium-bodied wine
Tasted blind, this sparkling rosé could pass for Champagne and makes a very good value party drink. Fruits abound - redcurrant, pomegranate, red cherries, strawberries - with rosewater and vanilla cream. You are left with a long-lasting creamy, rich, red fruit finish
Very smooth and elegant white wine from a favourite Burgundy producer, Domaine Thibert, and from a site expected to be granted Premier Cru status in 2018. Lovely, tasty finish & drinking beautifully now
Produced with "in vogue" grape variety, Albariño, this unoaked, light, white wine combines aromatics - distinctive peach flesh, citrus and stone fruit notes - with crisp minerality and fresh acidity
This lovely sparkling wine is produced from the same grapes as Cava from the producer's own vineyard in the Penedès region and it is organic. Aged for 24 months before release, this wine has a crisp, dry and fruity style - citrus, apple and peach included - and also touches of honey and cream. A great alternative to Champagne.
An amazing slightly sweet, light sparkling wine from aromatic grape, Moscato. The sweetness and perfume are set off by a citrus tang and a lovely fresh crispness. It has the added benefit of being low in alcohol at 5%. Beautiful with desserts; try it with fruit salad, strawberries and it cuts through chocolate mousse and other rich desserts. Jancis Robinson MW describes is "almost irresistible".
Really zesty white wine, oozing pears, almond and lime flavours. Works well as a summer aperitif and with a variety of food especially fish and seafood. If you like Sauvignon Blanc or other lighter, crisp wines, you will love this wine.
As the producer says "a restrained, well balanced expression of McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon..." and "an ode to the ‘luncheon claret" - it is a lighter style of Cabernet with young black fruit flavours. Soft fruity red with 91 Parker Points and 17+ points from Jancis Robinson MW
A Barbera / Nebbiolo blend that surprises with its refined elegance. Very drinkable, very smooth and all essential elements - tannins, fruit, acidity and alcohol - perfectly balanced. Described by Jancis Robinson MW as "absolutely delicious"
