I hold the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Diploma in Wine & Spirits (stepping stone to the Master of Wine qualification) and host virtual and face-to-face wine tastings for corporate events, private parties, charity functions, dinner parties, wine clubs etc.
Tastings can be held at home, in the office or your event venue or they can be held online via Zoom or other video-conferencing systems. Each event is bespoke, tailor-made to suit the occasion and the audience.
My wine tastings are educational and fun. Usually they are themed; examples of tastings I have hosted are:
How to taste wine - for beginners
Classics - a selection of the usual suspects such as French Cabernet Sauvignon, Rioja, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc etc.
Unusual grape varieties or grapes in vogue
Classic vs. unusual grape varieties
Wine & food pairings
"Whose wine is it anyway?" tasting
I can use wines from your cellar, from my portfolio - or a mix of both. Wines may be tasted blind or not. Often I hold a mini blind tasting competition with a prize for the winner(s). Wine tasting can get competitive!
Here are some comments from people who have attended my tastings:
"Thank you so much for last night. You were absolutely great and pitched at the perfect level."
"Thank you for arranging an excellent evening for us. I really enjoyed our Mediterranean tour of wines and very happy about the interaction between the tutor and the guests which gave the evening a nice flow (perfectly adapted to our guests, Lindsay!)."
"I really enjoyed myself and learnt a thing or 2 too!"
"Thank you for the excellent wine evening yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and the wines, and learnt a lot"
