Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is a black grape variety perhaps best known for producing the finest red Burgundy wines. Its origins are not clear but it is grown increasingly in other cool climate regions. A difficult grape to grow, it is capable of expressing terroir - read more in my Pinot Noir blog post.
Pinot Noir produces fragrant, silky smooth, red wines that are light in body and colour and low in tannins. If you think you don't like red wine, try a Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir wines taste of cherries, raspberries &, as they age, mushrooms and truffles. Pinot Noir is also found in Champagne and in English Sparkling Wine.
